Authenticated file deletion via imported image pathname
Published Jul 10, 2026 · Updated Jul 10, 2026
Path traversal in Snipe-IT before 8.6.2 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary files accessible to the server process. The CSV asset importer stores the image field as a pathname without reducing it to a filename, and asset deletion flows pass that value to filesystem deletion operations. The account must hold both import and assets.update permissions; deletion can corrupt application data or interrupt the service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
