CVE-2026-55427Network attack vector

Arbitrary code execution via SSH configuration injection

Published Jul 7, 2026 · Updated Jul 8, 2026

SSH configuration injection in Coder allows attackers controlling server-supplied settings to execute code on developer workstations. The config-ssh command writes HostnameSuffix and SSHConfigOptions into the user's SSH configuration without rejecting embedded newlines, allowing an injected ProxyCommand directive. Execution requires a malicious or compromised deployment, a man-in-the-middle position, or administrative control of those settings, plus a user running config-ssh; injected commands run with that user's privileges and affect all SSH connections.
