Authenticated internal response exfiltration via unvalidated video URLs
Published Sep 2, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026
SSRF in the Studio video download endpoint in Open edX Platform allows remote authenticated users to read server-fetched HTTP bodies. The handler passes each user-controlled files[].url value to requests.get with redirects enabled, then embeds the returned bytes in a ZIP response without validating the URL against course video records. Studio read access to the target course is required; reachable internal services and cloud metadata can be disclosed, while requests without a timeout can also consume server resources.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
