Local privilege escalation via permission bypass
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
Permission bypass in the Android kernel allows local users with existing execution privileges to escalate privileges without interaction. A logic error at multiple undisclosed code locations causes required permission checks to be bypassed, but Google has not published the affected functions or inputs. Exploitation requires code execution on the device and yields higher local privileges; it does not require user interaction.
