Local privilege escalation via address-remapping logic error
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
Privilege escalation in Google Android's Pixel-family kernel allows local users with System execution privileges to gain higher privileges. The addr_remap_address_map function in remap.c contains a logic error, but Google has not disclosed which address-remapping decision is incorrect. Exploitation requires prior System-level code execution on an affected Pixel-family device, needs no user interaction, and elevates local privileges.
