Heap corruption via unchecked page-count byte swapping
Published Oct 15, 2026 · Updated Oct 15, 2026
Heap overflow in Tatsh bincookie before 0.1.9 allows attackers to crash applications via crafted binarycookies files. In bincookie.h, bincookie_init_file() uses the unvalidated num_pages field to byte-swap page_sizes entries beyond a file-sized heap allocation. Exposure requires an application to parse an attacker-supplied file; code execution depends on the embedding application's allocator and memory layout.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
