Private assistant disclosure via mismatched authorization event
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Improper authorization in LangChain LangGraph API before 0.10.0 allows remote authenticated users to access private assistants via run creation. The run-creation path dispatches assistants.search with an incomplete value rather than assistants.read, so no handler adds an owner filter. Exposure requires a low-privileged account and the specific custom-handler gap; a successful request returns another user's metadata, config, and context and runs that assistant.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
