JDBC driver exploitation via unsafe JavaBean introspection
Published Jun 30, 2026 · Updated Jun 30, 2026
Java deserialization in Machinery For Change c3p0 before 0.14.0 allows attackers to invoke vulnerable JDBC drivers via crafted DataSources. JavaBeans introspection treats getConnection() and getPooledConnection() as safe properties, so automatic property resolution executes driver calls. Exploitation requires a susceptible c3p0 DataSource and JDBC driver on the CLASSPATH plus a deserializing carrier that automatically resolves bean properties.
