Environment-secret disclosure via repository configuration expansion
Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026
Information disclosure in pnpm before 10.34.2 and 11.0.0 through 11.5.2 allows remote attackers to steal environment secrets. Project .npmrc and pnpm-workspace.yaml parsing expands ${ENV_VAR} tokens in registry URLs and authentication values, which dependency resolution sends in request paths or Authorization headers. Exploitation requires a developer or CI job with a named secret in its environment to run a dependency-management command in an attacker-controlled repository; lifecycle-script blocking does not prevent the disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
