Cross-tenant workspace access via unscoped shared secret
Published Sep 30, 2026 · Updated Sep 30, 2026
Authorization bypass in Soft Machine 0.2.247 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read and overwrite peer workspaces via their APIs. In /app/server.js, verifyContainerAuth() and authenticateWorkspaceHttp() accept an app-wide bearer secret without checking that the caller belongs to the target workspace. Exploitation requires a paid workspace shell and network reachability to a peer workspace; the same secret also authorizes backup redirection and destructive restore.
