Remote command execution via unfiltered shell ampersand
Published Jul 16, 2026 · Updated Jul 16, 2026
OS command injection in WWBN AVideo 29.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute commands on standalone encoder servers. The sanitizeFFmpegCommand function in plugin/API/standAlone/functions.php leaves a single ampersand intact before execAsync embeds the result in an sh -c command, where the ampersand separates injected commands. Exploitation requires a crafted valid encrypted codeToExecEncrypted payload; successful commands run with the standalone encoder service's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
