Data disclosure via whitespace-prefixed export formulas
Published Oct 15, 2026 · Updated Oct 15, 2026
Formula injection in EspoCRM exports before 9.3.9 allows remote authenticated users to disclose data via crafted spreadsheet cells. The CSV and XLSX processors' sanitizeCellValue() methods inspect only the first byte, omitting the protective single quote when whitespace or control characters precede a formula trigger. Exploitation requires permission to store exported text and a privileged user opening the export and accepting applicable spreadsheet prompts; command execution additionally requires legacy DDE-enabled spreadsheet configurations.
