Admin-only comment disclosure via raw field ID
Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026
Information disclosure in OpenProject 17.5.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read hidden custom-field comments via inplace-edit requests. The inplace-edit dialog resolves a project custom field from a raw custom_field_ attribute and renders its stored comment without applying the normal admin_only visibility check. Exploitation requires a non-admin project member account and exposes only the comment text for admin-only project custom fields, with no reported ability to read field values or modify data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
