Path traversal in Aqua Security Trivy before 0.71.1 allows remote attackers to write arbitrary host files via a crafted OCI artifact. The OCI artifact downloader uses the org.opencontainers.image.title manifest annotation as a destination filename without verifying that it remains a local relative path. Exploitation requires a user or process to override an artifact repository or install a hostile module; writes remain limited to the Trivy user's filesystem permissions.
