Code execution via unfiltered user-setting deserialization
Published Oct 1, 2026 · Updated Oct 1, 2026
Unsafe Java deserialization in DHIS2 Core 2.42.0 through 2.42.5 and 2.43.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. HibernateUserSettingStore.fromBinary passes bytes from usersetting.value to ObjectInputStream.readObject without a class filter, permitting gadget classes on the classpath to run during deserialization. Exploitation requires high application privileges and suitable gadget classes; code executes in the server process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 2.42.0, < 2.42.5.1
