Cross-tenant Kanban destruction via mismatched view identifier

Published Aug 28, 2026 · Updated Aug 28, 2026

Improper authorization in Vikunja allows remote authenticated users to destroy other tenants' Kanban layouts via a crafted DELETE request. ProjectView.CanDelete checks control of the path project but not whether the supplied view belongs to it, and ProjectView.Delete runs unscoped deletes by view ID after a scoped delete matches no rows. Any authenticated account with a self-owned project and a guessed victim view ID can erase bucket assignments and task ordering, while the view and tasks remain intact.
