Local spoofing via uncontrolled search-path resolution
Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Uncontrolled search-path handling in Microsoft Intune Remote Help 5.0.0.0 through versions before 5.2.1040.0 allows local users to perform spoofing. Microsoft has not disclosed which Remote Help executable, lookup, or searched directory accepts an attacker-controlled path element. Exploitation requires a low-privilege local user, needs no user interaction, and can compromise confidentiality and integrity without interrupting service.
