Local code execution via aggregate length overflow
Published Jul 14, 2026 · Updated Jul 14, 2026
Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Windows Message Queuing Queue Manager allows local users to execute code through a queue read. The mqqm.dll remote-read path adds packet-section allocation lengths in a 32-bit value without checking aggregate overflow, allocates the wrapped size, and then processes the original lengths in an out-of-bounds write. Exploitation requires local access to direct MSMQ to a malicious queue server; the public PoC demonstrates service termination, not code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
