CVE-2026-5496

Code execution via PDSPRJ parser type confusion

Published Apr 11, 2026 · Updated Apr 11, 2026

Type confusion in PDSPRJ parsing in Labcenter Electronics Proteus Design Suite 8.17 SP5 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted file. The parser inadequately validates user-supplied data before processing it under an incompatible type, causing code execution in the current process. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open the file, and resulting code runs with the current process's privileges.
