Cross-site scripting via unsanitized Delta URLs
Published Jun 29, 2026 · Updated Jun 29, 2026
Cross-site scripting in MDEx 0.8.3 through 0.13.1 allows remote attackers to execute browser script through crafted Markdown URLs. MDEx.DeltaConverter.default_convert_node/3 copies link, wikilink, and image URLs into Quill Delta attributes without scheme validation. Exploitation requires an application to convert attacker-controlled Markdown to Delta and a viewer to click a rendered javascript link, enabling actions in that viewer's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
