Unauthenticated privileged REST access via hardcoded credential
Published Jun 26, 2026 · Updated Jun 26, 2026
Authentication bypass in Dev Kabir Enable CORS 2.0.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to access privileged REST endpoints. The permissions_check method in src/Traits/Api.php passes the Authorization header to password_verify against a fixed bcrypt hash and treats a match as authorized. A matching header value is required; successful requests bypass the manage_options capability check and permit reading or changing plugin settings.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
