Contributor-level code execution via shortcode ad_args
Published Jun 17, 2026 · Updated Jun 17, 2026
Code injection in Advanced Ads 2.0.21 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute server-side code through the ad_args shortcode parameter. The shortcode handler accepts attacker-controlled ad_args values and processes them as executable ad arguments without blocking code-bearing input. Contributor-level access is required, and successful exploitation executes code in the WordPress server context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
