Unauthenticated author enumeration via deprecated payload field
Published Jul 31, 2026 · Updated Jul 31, 2026
Information disclosure in WPGraphQL 2.0.0 through 2.14.1 allows remote attackers to enumerate author accounts via a GraphQL mutation. The deprecated SendPasswordResetEmailPayload.user resolver converts an internal user ID into a User object but returns null when no account matches. Unauthenticated GraphQL access is sufficient; only author-class accounts with published posts expose existence and permitted public profile fields.
