Prototype pollution via unfiltered configuration merge
Published Jul 1, 2026 · Updated Jul 1, 2026
Prototype pollution in XDSoft Jodit before 4.12.18 allows attackers to inject properties into Object.prototype via crafted options. Jodit.configure and its ConfigMerge and ConfigProto helpers recursively merge nested plain objects without rejecting proto, constructor, or prototype keys. Reachability requires an application to pass attacker-controlled or partially controlled configuration; successful pollution alters application logic and enables downstream data exposure, corruption, or service interruption.
