Application crash via unchecked DER private-key lengths
Published Oct 13, 2026 · Updated Oct 13, 2026
DER parsing in ConnectBot cbssh before 0.3.1 allows attackers to crash the application via an attacker-provided private-key file. DerReader.readLength() accumulates excessive length octets into an Int, and primitive readers allocate arrays without checking the declared size against remaining input. Exploitation requires an application or user to load the file; SSH server host keys and agent-forwarding messages do not reach this path, and no confidentiality or integrity impact is demonstrated.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
