Internal data disclosure via disabled SSRF guard
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
SSRF in mcp-searxng before 1.2.1 allows context-dependent attackers to read internal HTTP resources via web_url_read. The tool passes its caller-supplied URL to the server-side fetch path, while assertUrlAllowed runs only when MCP_HTTP_HARDEN is enabled and that setting defaults to off. Influence over a user- or AI-selected URL is required; successful requests return loopback, private-network, or cloud metadata content into the model context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
