Stored XSS via unencoded markdown-disabled HTML export
Published Aug 21, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Stored XSS in DiscordChatExporter before 2.47.2 allows attackers to execute JavaScript when a generated HTML export is opened. The MessageGroupTemplate.cshtml helpers pass attacker-controlled message and embed text to Html.Raw without entity encoding when markdown formatting is disabled. Exploitation requires a crafted webhook or bot message, an HTML export with markdown disabled, and a user opening the file; the script can read the export or alter its displayed content.
