Restricted page disclosure via unchecked structure endpoint
Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026
Authorization bypass in django CMS before 5.0.8 allows remote authenticated users to read restricted page plugin data via the structure endpoint. In cms/views.py, render_object_structure loads a PageContent object and renders cms/toolbar/structure.html without calling user_can_view_page(), unlike the edit and preview paths; the response includes each plugin's get_short_description() output such as link names, URLs, and text snippets. Exploitation requires a staff account and CMS_PERMISSION with page view restrictions, or CMS_PUBLIC_FOR set to staff, and exposes page content metadata rather than write access or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
