Information exposure via unrestricted sort ordering
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Improper input validation in Smithy HQ SQLAdmin before 0.27.1 allows remote attackers to infer hidden column ordering via sortBy. ModelView.sort_query resolves the unapproved parameter with getattr and passes it into relationship joins and order_by without enforcing self._sort_fields. A reachable list view is sufficient to compare ascending and descending row order; exact value recovery depends on exposed search, filter, and pagination controls.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
