DNS SSRF via eager InetSocketAddress resolution
Published Jun 23, 2026 · Updated Jun 23, 2026
SSRF in FasterXML jackson-databind allows remote attackers to trigger DNS queries from an application that deserializes their JSON. JDKFromStringDeserializer creates InetSocketAddress with a resolving constructor during readValue, so an attacker-chosen hostname reaches DNS before validation or connect logic. Reachability requires an application to bind untrusted JSON into a type containing an InetSocketAddress field; the bounded effect is an outbound DNS lookup and resolver probing.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
