Stored XSS via safe-HTML equality shortcut
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
Stored XSS in Plone plone.app.textfield before 2.0.2, 3.0.0 through 3.0.1, and 4.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript. RichTextValue.output returns raw stored content when mimeType equals outputMimeType, so text/x-html-safe input bypasses safe_html and reaches tal:content=structure without escaping. An account able to set a RichText field can persist script that executes when the field is viewed, exposing browser-accessible data in that viewer's session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=< 2.0.2
