Unauthenticated administrator access via default credentials
Published Jun 17, 2026 · Updated Jun 17, 2026
Use of default credentials in vantage6 before 5.0.0 allows remote attackers to gain administrator access through the server login. During first startup, ServerApp reads fixed values from SUPER_USER_INFO and creates a database user named root with the Root role and password root. Exploitation requires a reachable production server whose initial credentials remain unchanged and grants control available to the Root role.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
