SYSTEM code execution via user-controlled APPDATA path
Published Jul 4, 2026 · Updated Jul 4, 2026
Incorrect privileged API use in Unity Parsec before 150-104a allows local users to execute code as SYSTEM on Windows hosts. The pservice.exe named-pipe UPDATE command accepts a user-controlled APPDATA path and relaunches parsecd.exe with a duplicated SYSTEM token. Exploitation requires an authenticated local session and a Per User installation; Shared User installations are unaffected.
