UDS server crash via SecurityAccess length underflow
Published Jun 14, 2026 · Updated Jun 14, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in driftregion iso14229 0 through 0.9.0 allows remote attackers to crash UDS servers or read adjacent memory. Handle_0x27_SecurityAccess reads recv_buf[1] before validating recv_len, then underflows a one-byte request length to 65535 and passes it to application callbacks. The request must follow a valid 0x27 exchange, but the handler is reachable without authentication over CAN, OBD-II, ISO-TP, and DoIP.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
