Cross-workspace data access via appId mass assignment
Published Jun 26, 2026 · Updated Jun 26, 2026
Mass assignment in Budibase before 3.39.9 allows remote authenticated users to read and write another workspace's data via a webhook. The public webhook controller places the raw POST body in fields, and externalTrigger() spreads those fields over server-derived parameters so appId replaces the trusted workspace context. Exploitation requires builder access to an attacker-controlled workspace, a known victim workspace ID, and the default asynchronous path used by webhooks without a collect step.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
