Unauthenticated collection-wide reads and writes via query injection
Published Jun 26, 2026 · Updated Jun 26, 2026
NoSQL injection in Budibase before 3.39.12 allows remote attackers to read or modify entire collections through a published PUBLIC query. Query validation blocks Handlebars markers but leaves JSON metacharacters unescaped, so a crafted parameter closes its string and adds fields that override the intended filter after JSON parsing. The endpoint requires no session when the query role is PUBLIC; reads expose all matched documents, while a published write query applies its builder-defined operation collection-wide.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
