Stored XSS via unsanitized webhook identifier
Published Jun 23, 2026 · Updated Jun 23, 2026
Stored XSS in the n8n Chat Trigger allows remote authenticated users with workflow edit access to execute JavaScript in the n8n origin. The generated chat page places an attacker-controlled webhookId into HTML without neutralizing it, turning a crafted identifier into executable script. Exploitation requires another logged-in user to visit the malicious chat URL; the script then acts with that user's session privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
