CVE-2026-5423Network attack vector

Unauthenticated subscription access via unverified JWT claims

Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026

Authentication bypass in Neo4j GraphQL Library allows remote attackers to read restricted GraphQL subscription events. The subscription context accepts a client-supplied, pre-decoded connectionParams.jwt object as authenticated claims without verifying its signature or authenticity. Exploitation requires enabled subscription and authorization features plus WebSocket connection parameters forwarded into resolver context; it exposes event data but does not modify or interrupt the underlying database.
