Unauthenticated server crash via JSON buffer overflow
Published Aug 7, 2026 · Updated Aug 7, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in TeamDavid Webbox through Rollout 524 allows remote attackers to crash the server via a crafted JSON body. The API endpoint's JSON parser writes a value beginning with a number and at least seven following characters beyond its destination buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required; testing terminated the process at the stack-cookie check, while code execution requires defeating that protection.
