Unauthenticated server crash via oversized file read
Published Aug 7, 2026 · Updated Aug 7, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in TeamDavid Webbox through Rollout 524 allows remote attackers to crash the server via an unauthenticated request. The (editini) password-change handler accepts an arbitrary file path and reads an oversized non-Archive.ini file into a fixed-size stack buffer. No credentials or user interaction are required; exploitation terminates the Webbox process with a stack-buffer-overrun fast-fail, interrupting web service availability.
