Authenticated code execution via unchecked upload extensions
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in Backpack CRUD 6.0.0 through 6.8.13 and 7.0.0 through 7.0.37 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP. The HasUploadFields upload methods retain the supplied extension, while FileNameGenerator derives one without rejecting executable types. Exploitation requires administrator access, an upload field without MIME validation, public linked storage, and a web server that executes the stored extension.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
