Relation data corruption via unchecked IRI type
Published Jul 1, 2026 · Updated Jul 1, 2026
Type confusion in affected API Platform Core releases allows remote authenticated users to corrupt writable relation data through crafted IRIs. AbstractItemNormalizer resolves a relation IRI without passing an operation, bypassing IriConverter's class guard and assigning an object of the wrong declared type. The endpoint must accept writes to an untyped writable relation; PHP-typed properties reject the substitution, while legacy annotation-only properties can silently violate application invariants.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
