CVE-2026-54079Network attack vector

File disclosure and SSRF via XFA parsing

Published Jul 29, 2026 · Updated Jul 29, 2026

XXE in veraPDF-validation allows remote attackers to read local files or send server-side requests through a crafted PDF/UA-1 file. GFPDAcroForm.getdynamicRender() decodes the PDF's XFA stream and passes its attacker-controlled XML to a default DocumentBuilderFactory with external entities enabled. Exploitation requires the target to validate the file under PDF/UA-1, directly or by automatic profile selection; successful entities disclose files or trigger outbound requests.
