CVE-2026-54071Public exploit

Arbitrary code execution via CMap pickle deserialization

Published Aug 21, 2026 · Updated Aug 21, 2026

Deserialization of untrusted data in BabelDOC 0.6.2 and earlier allows attackers to execute arbitrary code by processing a crafted PDF. CMapDB._load_data() joins a PDF-controlled CMap name to trusted directories without canonicalization, then passes the selected .pickle.gz contents to pickle.loads(). Attackers must place a payload at a predictable filesystem path and cause BabelDOC to process the PDF; execution inherits the BabelDOC process privileges.
