Host command execution via CSS-snippet style breakout
Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026
Stored XSS in SiYuan before 3.7.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute host commands through a synced CSS snippet. renderSnippet() places raw CSS snippet content inside a style element through insertAdjacentHTML, so a closing style tag escapes into executable markup. Workspace write access is required; the payload runs when snippets load, and Electron's enabled Node integration exposes child_process for host command execution.
