Authenticated service interruption via unlimited conversation import
Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026
Denial of service in LibreChat 0.8.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to crash the server through a conversation import. The POST /api/convos/import route creates a separate Multer instance without a file-size limit, then reads the complete upload into memory and parses it as JSON. A valid user account is required; repeated or oversized imports can fill server storage, block the Node.js event loop, or cause an out-of-memory crash.
