Unauthenticated service termination via Socket.IO restart command
Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026
Missing authentication in Ground Station before 0.6.0 allows remote attackers to shut down the service through Socket.IO commands. The service_control handler accepts restart_service from unauthenticated Socket.IO peers because connection authentication and command authorization are not enforced. Exposure of port 7000 is sufficient; one event terminates the ground-station process and interrupts active tracking, recording, decoding, and hardware-control sessions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
