Unauthenticated database destruction via Socket.IO restore
Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026
Missing authentication in Ground Station 0.5.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to wipe or replace its SQLite database. The Socket.IO database_backup handler accepts an unauthenticated full_restore command, drops every table, and executes caller-supplied SQL through exec_driver_sql. Any network peer reaching port 7000 can destroy station records or inject fabricated orbital sources and observation data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
