Script-right escalation via unchecked Live Data save
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
Missing authorization in XWiki Platform Live Data allows remote authenticated users with page-edit rights to gain script right. ModelBridge.saveDocument directly saved the modified document without calling checkSavingDocument, bypassing normal save-time authorization and event-listener checks. Page-edit permission is sufficient to alter page rights, enabling dangerous Velocity execution and unfiltered HTML or JavaScript delivery to clients.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
