Command execution via unescaped dump filenames
Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
OS command injection in Laravel Backup Restore before 1.9.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via a crafted backup archive. The restore workflow interpolates an unescaped db-dumps entry filename into shell command strings passed to Laravel's Process facade. Exploitation requires an operator or automation to restore the archive, and commands run with the PHP/Laravel application user's privileges.
